| Session Description | Water and ecosystem intrinsically interact at a variety of spatial and temporal scales. However, their functional relationships and mechanisms often remain poorly understood. This proposed session examines the interactive processes of water function with ecosystem, and invites contributions from a variety of experts including hydrologists, hydraulic engineers, biologists, geomorphologists, and ecologist. Research studies employing field observations, theoretical works, experimental approaches and numerical modeling are all welcome. Interdisciplinary studies are particularly expected. Investigations with implications for resource management, biodiversity conservation, river restoration, vegetation patterns, landscape dynamics, and water quality protection are particularly encouraged. |
