Session Description | Transpiration is one of the core components of water, energy and carbon cycle in land surface models. Flowing through the soil-plant-atmosphere continuum with strong vegetation regulation in response to environmental conditions, transpiration has been simulated using various methods to parameterize the ecohydrological processes in the root zone or at the canopy-atmosphere interface. This session aims to showcase recent advances in transpiration modelling at multiple spatial and temporal scales including new/improved conceptualisation, parameterisation, and examination of parameter transferability across scales. Transpiration modelling in remote sensing algorithms and integrated ecohydrological models are also solicited. |
