Session Title | Energetic Particle Acceleration and Transport in the Heliosphere |
Main Convener | Dr. Linghua Wang (Peking University, China) |
Co-convener(s) | Dr. Gang Li (The University of Alabama in Huntsville, United States) Dr. Kyoko Watanabe (National Defense Academy of Japan, Japan) |
Session Description | Energetic particles are an important topic of space plasma physics, encompassing solar physics, interplanetary physics and geophysics. However, many details still remain unknown. Particle acceleration processes include magnetic reconnection, wave-particle interaction, collisionless shock wave, etc., and particle transport processes include adiabatic motion, parallel and perpendicular diffusions, random walk of magnetic field lines, wave-particle interaction, etc.. This session invites contributions that discuss space-borne and ground-based observations, and theory/modeling of the processes of energetic particle acceleration and transport in the heliosphere. |
