Session Description | The Asia Pacific region is well-known for its geological and geochronological complexity, and its rich and diverse mineral resource resources. The ore deposit types in the region vary from currently ore-forming systems on the seafloor to a variety of magmatic and basin-related ore deposits in mainland SE Asia. Formation of these many deposits is spatially and temporally linked with a long and complex tectonic history of the Gondwana supercontinent break-up and assembly, arc magmatism, back arc basin development, together with arc-continent and continent-continent collisions. We welcome high-quality contribution on the geodynamic setting and metallogeny, geochemistry, geochronology and ore genesis to highlight the vast endowment of world class mineral deposits in the region. We also welcome the contribution of paper about geothermal potential associated to the mineral deposit |
