Session Description | Water is an essential resource for all life in the world. Facing various climate and socio-economic challenges, sustainability of our water resources and environment is becoming a significant issue. The sustainability of water is largely affected by practices of water resources planning, management and decision-making. However, the inherent uncertainty of hydroclimatic processes, and Nature at large, often complicates these practices. This session examines the issues associated with the planning and management of our water- resources and environment. Studies that address both theoretical development and practical applications on water resources availability and demand, water resources planning and management modeling, socio-economic factors, drought and flood prevention, decision making processes, stochastic optimization are all welcome. We especially encourage interdisciplinary studies that attempt to bridge science and policy. |
