Tropical cyclones are among the most devastating of natural disasters. Storm surges, destructive winds, landslides, debris flow, and flash floods frequently cause loss of human life and serious economic damage. Forecasting the hazards is always a challenging task. Warning systems are necessary to mitigate the damages. The aim of this session is to provide a forum for discussing a wide range of topics in the field of water-related hazards and the corresponding warning systems. |
