| Session Description | With potential significant changes in global climate and environment, occurrences of climate/hydrological extremes around the world are likely to be more frequent and of greater magnitude. We welcome all contributions that deal with research on, and development of models for monthly to seasonal projection of extreme climatic/hydrologic events (e.g., heavy rainfall, floods and droughts). The session also addresses the technological aspects of modelling, social and commercial applications, hazard mitigation strategies, data issues, and data sources in regards to climatic/hydrological extremes. |
