| Session Description | Accurate representation of subgrid-scale physical processes in models still remains as a challenging task. Significant efforts are being taken to improve the understanding of those processes by carrying out observation analyses, and to improve the model representation by incorporating new findings from observations into model simulations, or to propose new representation scheme and evaluate it using various observation. These observation and model efforts are a must for improving representations of subgrid-scale processes. This session invites papers on 1) Observation study of subgrid-scale processes for improving our understanding, 2) Development of subgrid-scale process representations in models, 3) Evaluation of improved representations of subgrid-scale physical processes. |
