Session Description | Tsunamis are one of the most devastating natural disasters in Asia-Oceania region such as the 2004 Sumatra Tsunami or the 2011 Tohoku-oki Tsunami. Tsunami science has become one of the most inter-disciplinary research areas. Geophysics, oceanography, engineering, geology, and social science are included in tsunami reseraches. This session invites contributions from all areas of tsunami science including: theoritical research; numerical modeling; tsunami source studies; forecast and warning procedures; investigation of geologic records; and hazard and risk studies from tsunamis generated by earthquakes, landslides, volcanic eruptions. |
