Session Title | Sar Application in Natural Hazard Response |
Main Convener | Dr. Sang-Ho Yun (NASA Jet Propulsion Laboratory, United States) |
Co-convener(s) | Dr. Yu-Nung Nina Lin (Nanyang Technological University, Singapore) |
Session Description | The emergency response capability of Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR) has improved significantly since the launch of radar satellites with short repeat time in recent years. Its application covers not only the ground deformation that assists rupture detection and source modeling, but also different proxy maps for surface damage, inundation area and even wild fires. The SAR technology, when combined with optical imagery, can further make the all-weather, high-resolution and low-latency solution for natural hazard responses. We would like to invite contributions in this field, particularly results from new methodologies, algorithm development, real-case applications, ground validation, assimilation of SAR and optical imagery, and modeling results following the SAR observations. We also encourage contributions of operational experiences in SAR technologies for natural hazard responses. |
