| Session Description | Atmospheric and Oceanic Regional models have evolved in the recent decades and are used for many societal applications. The applications range from synoptic to decadal time scales. The aim of the session is to highlight such applications and to review the overall progress and challenges in the application of regional models to those applications. The focus will be on evaluating the value addition of the regional models and their application to the societal issues. The results of the ensemble simulations from the international Coordinated Regional Climate Downscaling Experiment (CORDEX) are also welcome. |
