INTRODUCTION
Thailand or Prathet Thai
when translated directly means the “Land of the Free”;
this country which is still a constitutional monarchy, has the distinction
among Southeast Asian countries of neither being colonized, nor
has suffered civil war & racial conflicts. The signature traits
of independence & pride in their identity contrast yet blend
perfectly with the peace-loving & generous nature culled from
her longstanding Buddhist heritage. The contrastingly melding energies
seem to reflect not only on her people, her government, but also
in the geographical conditions of her lands. Within a mere 513,
115 sq km of area, there are forested mountains with deep valleys
sliced by fast-flowing rivers; the lush central basin of rich fertile
soil fed by extensive waterways laying side by side with vast stretches
of barren land cursed with weak soil & enigmatic weather conditions.
Get ready to meld in the diversities of mental contrasts in the
capital of the Kingdom of Freedom, Bangkok on 30 July – 4
August 2007.
