Professor Gwo-Fong Lin is a Distinguished Professor in the Department of Civil Engineering at the National Taiwan University. He has served as an Adjunct Senior Scientist at the APEC Research Center for Typhoon and Society and an Adjunct Senior Adviser at the Taiwan Typhoon and Flood Research Institute. Professor Lin has served as the Chair of Department of Civil Engineering and the Director of the Hydrotech Research Institute at National Taiwan University. He has been invited to participate in various expert committees at the national and the international levels. He has served as different scientific journal editors (AOGS Geoscience Letters, IAHR-IWA-IAHS Journal of Hydroinformatics, etc.), and has been invited to deliver keynote and prestigious lectures at many scientific conferences and universities abroad. He has been invited professor at several foreign universities. He has been active in international cooperation as well as an active member in international professional associations (President of the Hydrological Sciences Section of the AOGS; Founding member of APHW, Members of AGU, ASCE, IAHR, IAHS, etc.). Professor Lin has made outstanding scientific and professional contributions over more than 40 years in the areas of Hydrological Sciences and Water Resources Engineering. He has received various prestigious honors and awards for his professional accomplishments.
