Announcement: 2025 AOGS Awards & Call for Nominations
Dear Members,
We are pleased to announce the call for nominations for the annual society awards. These awards recognize outstanding achievements and contributions in various geoscience fields. Below are the details for each award and the nomination process.

Guidelines and Requirements
- Specific eligibility criteria and submission requirements for each award can be found on our society website. Self-nomination is not allowed.

- Submission Deadline
All nominations must be submitted by 18 February 2025
- Submission Method
Nominations should be submitted via MARS, the AOGS online platform under “Nomination” in the “Author Options” section, with the exception of the Kamide Lecture Award.
- To set up a user account, log onto the portal and follow the “Create A New User Account” instructions. Click “Login ⟶ “Create A New User Account”
- You can use your existing user account for future events without needing to create a new one.
The Kamide Lecture Award is given to all 8 sections of the Asia Oceania Geosciences Society and their selection is the responsibility of the Sections. The President forms and heads the selection committee. Please email your nomination to the Section President concerned concerned by 22 October 2024.
- Announcement of Winners
- Award recipients will be announced on 20 May 2025.
- The winners will receive a plaque, financial support, and free admission to the annual meeting when the awards will be presented.
- The papers pertaining to the distinguished lectures given by the winners of the Axford Medal, Wing Ip Medal, and Kamide Lecture Award will be published in the society's journal after they are presented at the annual meeting. The society will pay the article processing charge.
We encourage all members to participate in this important process by nominating deserving colleagues who have made significant contributions to our field.
