Introduction and Presentation of Awards by AOGS President

1.	Opening and Welcome Address A special welcome was given to everyone in attendance by Professor Takehiko SATOH, President of AOGS. The meeting was called to order at 4:03pm (GMT+8).
2.	Approval of the Agenda All were in favour of the agenda as presented.
3.	Publication Committee Chair’s Report Professor Van-Thanh-Van NGUYEN presented the Publication Committee Report for the past year. In addition, updated on the society journal’s elevated standing and continued impact factor of 4.3.
4.	Regional Advisory Committee Chair’s Report Professor Wing-Huen IP presented the report of the Regional Advisory Committee’s activities during the past year.
5.	Treasurer’s Report Dr Stephen CHUA, Treasurer presented the 2024-2025 Audited Financial Statement. There was no question at the conclusion of the audited statement and approved as presented.
6.	Constitutional Amendments Dr Stephen CHUA, Treasurer presented the proposed amendments to the constitution. No objections were raised. The general assembly approved the amendments by show of hands. A photograph of the show of hands was taken confirming a majority in favour. The Treasurer noted that the required threshold was met.
7.	Secretary General’s Report Professor Ji CHEN presented the report of the Society’s activities during the past year.
8.	Presentation of Honorary Member Award The Secretary General presented Professor Shie-Yui Liong for consideration as an Honorary Member for exceptional contributions to the Asia Oceania Geosciences Society since 2023. No objections were raised. The general assembly approved the appointment by show of hands. A photograph of the show of hands was taken, confirming a majority in favour. The Secretary General noted that the required threshold was met. The Secretary General declared Professor Shie-Yui Liong duly appointed as an Honorary Member.
9.	Appointment of Honorary Auditor The Secretary General presented Professor Xixi LU for consideration as Honorary Auditor 2025 to 2027 for the Asia Oceania Geosciences Society. No objections were raised. The general assembly approved the appointment by show of hands. A photograph of the show of hands was taken, confirming a majority in favour. The Secretary General noted that the require threshold was met. The Secretary General declared Professor Xixi Lu duly appointed as Honorary Auditor.
10.	Presentation of Awards by AOGS President Professor Takehiko SATOH presented the following awards: Axford Medal: Professor Benjamin F CHAO Wing Ip Medal: Professor David HIGGITT Honorary Member: Professor Shie-Yui LIONG AOGS Fellows: Dr Tim LI, Professor Kaoru SATO, Professor Hui SU, Professor Wen ZHOU

The Annual General Meeting adjourned at 5pm. This was followed by two Axford Lectures, which concluded at 6:30pm. Immediately after, attendees were invited to the Welcome Reception
