The administration of the Society is entrusted to the Council
comprising of an Executive Committee, the Assistant Secretary General, the Assistant Treasurer and
the Section Presidents.
The council may appoint a professional secretariat to perform assigned duties.

AS - Atmospheric Sciences
BG - Biogeosciences
HS - Hydrological Sciences
IG - Interdisciplinary Geosciences
OS - Ocean Sciences
PS - Planetary Sciences
ST - Solar and Terrestrial Sciences
SE - Solid Earth Sciences
Each Section has its own Section President, Section Vice-President (President -Elect or Past-President) and one or more Section Secretaries.
The formation of new Sections and the reorganization of Sections must be approved by the Council and ratified by an Annual General Meeting.
